Virtue

If one has no conception about shame
Or much less, no capacity to feel
Her pattern of behavior is the same
Displayed by those whose values may be nil.
Ornaments on the limbs, honey in the speech,
But poison in the heart, ready to bite;
One who possesses chastity is rich
Because all her activities are white.
Just covering the body with cosmetics
And silk is for the soul of no avail
For the substance of beauty is based on ethics
And shyness is much better than a veil.
Character is what makes one really clad
For virtue is beyond covering the head.
